These critical team members are trained to handle any veterinary emergency that comes their way, along with caring for and supporting clients who visit for an appointment. Take a moment to learn a little more about 10 of our exceptional Veterinary Receptionists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"463\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gradyvet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/amanda-jones-2022-blog.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1793\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019ve seen Receptionist Amanda Jones\u2019 posts on Facebook! She\u2019s one of Grady Veterinary Hospital\u2019s Facebook ambassadors. She\u2019s been part of our team since 2005, and she learned about Grady Vet when, as a K9 Officer, her husband brought his canine partner here for care. Along with her other responsibilities, she also helps train new receptionists at the practice. Amanda says her favorite part of her job is, \u201cWatching the relationship between people and their pets. It\u2019s nice to be around people who have an obvious love for their animals.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"376\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gradyvet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/AMY-Hornsberger.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1794\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2023, Amy joined the Grady Veterinary Hospital team as a valued Veterinary Receptionist. She helps clients check in and out and other important customer service roles. It\u2019s also crucial to keep the hospital clean and tidy. Amy explains, \u201cI\u2019ve always worked in customer service, and I\u2019ve always loved animals, so working at Grady\u2019s has been a great fit!\u201d Currently, her family includes both a dog and cat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"376\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gradyvet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/gabrielle-owens.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1795\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>When her pet was sick, Gabrielle appreciated the Grady Veterinary Hospital team\u2019s care and compassion. She says, \u201cI share the same values, and I wanted to become part of the team.\u201d So, she joined the hospital as a Veterinary Receptionist in October 2022. She is one of the first staff members to see a pet as they come in, and she is also the last staff member clients see when they leave. Gabrielle\u2019s role is vitally important in leading pets to health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"753\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gradyvet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/jody-blog.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1796\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Since starting at Grady Veterinary Hospital in 2015, receptionist Jody Hughes says, \u201cThere\u2019s never a dull moment!\u201d Jody was interested in changing her career when she noticed the hospital advertising an open receptionist position. She brought in her resume during her new puppy\u2019s well visit, and we\u2019ve been happy to have her on the team ever since.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"619\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gradyvet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/LAUREN-MEHL-2022-blog.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1797\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Lauren Mehl started as a Veterinary Receptionist with Grady Vet in 2021 after a great career in pet retail and dog training. Her days keep her busy answering phones, getting pets ready to be seen by the doctor and calming both clients and pets during emergencies. She says, \u201cI love to talk to clients about pet stories, learning about their pets, so I can make sure they get the best care possible.\u201d Lauren shares her home with both dogs and fish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"425\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gradyvet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/lindsey-kahn-2022-blog.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1798\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You may have met Lindsey Kahn, who started as a Receptionist with Grady Veterinary Hospital in 2016. She enjoys getting to know our regular clients while answering the phone, making appointments and checking patients in. She\u2019s worked with animals at an animal shelter and zoo before joining our team. She says, \u201cI love working alongside everyone here, because, like me, they are so passionate about pets. It\u2019s wonderful to be surrounded by compassionate people.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"396\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gradyvet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/lori-vogt.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1799\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Lori Vogt comes to Grady Veterinary Hospital after previously working in a human ER ward. She explains, \u201cI liked my work but thought working with animals would be even more perfect for me.\u201d She became a Veterinary Receptionist in 2023, where she helps clients at the front desk and over the phone. She is a self-professed animal lover and certainly loves her labraheeler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"376\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gradyvet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/pam-montgomery-2022-blog.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1800\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Pam Montgomery has been a Veterinary Receptionist for over 15 years, and she started with the Grady Veterinary Hospital team in 2016. She loves helping both animals and their people. Pam adds, \u201cI share in the joys and sorrows or our clients and try to be a comfort to them. We understand they are here with a sick or injured animal and both person and pet needs compassion from us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"160\" height=\"320\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gradyvet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Shelley-2025-blog.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1801\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Our Veterinary Receptionist Shift Lead Shelley Hauser started with Grady Veterinary Hospital in 2014. Her role is incredibly important for patient and client care as she greets clients, answers phone calls and emails, schedules appointments and surgeries, and answers the many questions our hospital receives every day. Shelley shares, \u201cThe most rewarding part of my day is interacting with animals and building relationships with their owners. I\u2019m able to provide support during both happy and challenging times.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gradyvet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/victoria-2025-blog.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1802\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Victoria Ratcliffe has a long history with Grady Veterinary Hospital. She first joined our staff in 1989 and stayed until 1992. We were so pleased to welcome her back in 2024 to join our Veterinary Receptionist team. Her favorite part of working with animals is making their hospital stay as comfortable as possible and showing love to all the patients who enter our doors. Victoria shares how she came to choose a career in veterinary medicine: \u201cI worked in a pet shop when I was younger, and it made me want to care for
