June is Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat-Month<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Do you have a hole in your heart that only a feline friend can fill? It may be time to adopt a cat from Save the Animals Foundation. STAF is a Cincinnati, no-kill shelter. Volunteers lovingly care for the shelter animals and carefully place them with forever families. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take a few minutes to meet these five kitties who would love to meet you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adopt a Cat: Apollonia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"Adopt<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Apollonia was born March 2023, and she is both a beauty and a cutie! She was born at STAF when her mother Aida was rescued while pregnant. Her litter mates are Athena, Xanthe and Persephone. Here’s her description:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“They don\u2019t come cuter than this little medium-haired girl! She has the most adorable black spotted toes! Apollonia is more laid back than her sisters, which is not to say she is snoozy. She is an active, playful ball of love.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Adopt a Cat: Aida<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"Adopt<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Aida is Apollonia’s mother. Now that her mothering work is done, she’s ready for some rest and relaxation! STAF volunteers rescued her from an outdoor site, and she is a friendly, loving cat. She’s described as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Calico lovers will fall head over heels is love with the gorgeous Aida, named for the heroic princess of Verdi\u2019s famous opera! Aida is a dainty, somewhat petite kitty with a short, smooth coat. She is all about people, purring for days and arching her back when stroked. Aida turns playful when presented with small stuffed toys she can carry around. She isn\u2019t overly fond of other cats (though not combative), preferring to soak up all the love herself. She is slightly tentative in new situations but becomes comfortable with a just little time. She also requests a relatively quiet home in which to reign.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Adopt a Cat: Creamsicle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"Adopt<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

This lovely, long-hair senior is friendly and gentle. She was found as a stray and needs regular veterinary care. STAF shares:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Creamsicle is a gentle soul looking for a quiet, loving forever home.. Our elegant dark-orange-and-white long-haired cat is a sensitive girl who appreciates short petting sessions before she requests a break. She lives peacefully with other cats but doesn\u2019t appear to care much about them and would do as well in a single-cat home. Creamsicle adores snoozing by a sunny window or stretching out on a soft rug.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Adopt a Cat: Levi<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"Adopt<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

At some point in his life, Levi was released into a cat colony before a STAF volunteer noticed that the other cats were bullying him. Turns out the feral life wasn’t for this friendly boy! Here’s his description:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This handsome young guy with a half mustache would make an awesome companion for many years ahead. Levi is a sweetheart who adores a chin and head rubbing. When you stop, he has the adorable habit of reaching out with a paw to tap your hand to make sure you understand that he wants more. Levi also enjoys lap time. He does get a little overstimulated when you scratch near his tail, so he may not be ideal for small children.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Adopt a Cat: Schroeder<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"Adopt<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Schroeder came to STAF from a cat colony and needed significant veterinary care. He had bad teeth and a hematoma in his ear– which is now healed and accounts for his adorable, lopsided look. Here’s more about him:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Schroeder has character in spades! This quirky tabby-and-white cat is unfazed by pretty much everything. For an older guy, Schroeder LOVES scuttling about after toys. He has learned to steer clear of several of his roommates who aren\u2019t crazy about him but has made good friends with a congenial cat named Bob, with whom he hangs around and plays. So, although he would be totally fine as a pampered single pet, he would clearly enjoy a feline partner in crime of a similar temperament.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Save the Animals Foundation Summer Open House THIS SUNDAY<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Meet the cats and dogs of STAF this Sunday from 2-5PM. The shelter will also be fundraising through sales of merchandise and raffle tickets. Have fun and help the animals!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adopt a Cat: Spud Finds a Home!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It’s wonderful to celebrate whenever someone adopts a cat. Spud lived in Room 3 at Save the Animals Foundation for a long time. Then, he met his match! Just look how happy he is in his forever home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our shelter currently homes about 50 wonderful dogs and more than 300 spectacular cats. Short hair, long hair, big and small, young and \u201cseasoned,\u201d playful and laidback \u2013 all here waiting for that special someone!”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

To help cats and dogs find loving, forever homes, STAF has a thorough adoption process for all animals. One thing to know is that adoptions are by appointment only, and it’s helpful to fill out the adoption application beforehand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
